Do you have a marriage you’re proud of?

As your children grow they are learning how life should be from your example. You are showing them through your actions what is normal. You are giving them their first blueprint of what an intimate relationship is like with another human.

So when you think about the relationship you are having with your partner, are you proud of what you are presenting to your children? Are you happy that they may adopt your relationship as their model for success?

If you don’t have children, would you be happy to present your relationship as the model for others to follow?

One of the gifts we all possess is the ability to be really honest with ourselves. We know deep down if we are truly being the best we can be in our relationships and our lives.

It’s easy to fool others that our relationship is great, but deep down you know the truth and you also know why it’s the way it is today.

If you really don’t know why your relationship is the way it is today, you can be honest about that.

You could try to blame your partner, but you know if your not being the best you can be, or you don’t know how to be the best you can be, you’re part of the problem too.

Creating a marriage you can be proud of is about understanding the keys to making it successful and becoming committed to that quest.

So when you give your relationship the food it needs to survive you do that not because of what your going to get back, you do it because it’s who you are as a person.

You see true peace comes from within you, knowing you contributed to the growth of your relationship by being who you are and knowing you were the best you could be.

So your focus is not on what your partner is doing, or not doing, what you get, or don’t get back. Your focus is on your ability to be able to be true to who you are and how you can meet your partners needs.

The survival of any marriage is based on just a few things.

Be who you are so you can be at peace within you, this way you can bring the right version of you to the relationship.

Then focus your energy into feeding your relationship what it needs to survive so it can grow to what you both want it to be.

Be a team by learning how to love and grow together.
