When in sessions there is one part of what I teach that has the most shocking response from all my clients. I have had people display tears, anger, disbelief, frustration, confusion all at the same thing.
They cannot believe what has been happening in their lives without them knowing. Some have lived their whole lives this way, some have lost relationships, hurt loved ones, hurt themselves…
Some clients, senior people with significant responsibility drop their head, speechless.
What is this one thing that has such a big impact, what is it that causes so much emotion.
You see the most intelligent people start to understand with me how their life has been set up to be a life they can’t win in.
They discover that even if they are successful they will feel, unfulfilled or unhappy
They create goals that seem to be what they want only to discover with me that what they have been after is not what they really want, or if they do really want it they can never have it with their current behaviours and habits.
Just imagine wanting something and never being able to get it in the way you want.
You see one of the fundamentals of any human behaviour change work is the one thing most change professionals agree on. If your core beliefs are incongruent with the your actions a life of struggle is going to be the result.
In most cases, relationship problems are as a result of not understanding this fundamental.
This is why so many couples get lost and discover that logic will not fix their life, or relationship.
